Edith Hazel is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, arranger and composer from Montreal now based in New York City. Having recently graduated from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, she has had the opportunity to study with some of the most renowned vocalists in today’s jazz scene, including Catherine Russell, Cyrille Aimée, Theo Bleckmann, and Cécile McLorin Salvant. A swing dancer and Lindy Hop instructor herself, Edith is passionate about playing for dancers and knows just what makes you wanna swing out! She regularly plays for swing dance events, both under her own name and as a featured vocalist, notably for Del and the Rad Rompers, the Asphalt Flowers, Ian Hutchison and Gordon Webster.
For 567 OUI, Edith will be accompanied by some of the finest musicians from New York and Montreal’s traditional jazz and swing scenes to play the hot beats that make every dance sweet!
